Pernille Bévort

Contemporary instrumental jazz

Is known for her intense and creative saxophone playing. In her music you constantly sense a clear and distinct direction; exciting rhythmic and melodic progress and excellent solos.

As a member of The Ernie Wilkins Almost Big Band and as a frequent substitute with professional Big Bands, she has performed with a lot of international artists. Among these are: Randy Brecker, Tony Coe, Tim Hagans, John Scofield, Maria Schneider and Charlie Watts.

Pernille is part of the MALUBA Orchestra with Marilyn Mazur, Fredrik Lundin and Kasper Bai. Band leader in her trio Bévort 3 and the septet Radio Bévort. Oct. 2020 Pernille was nominated for a DMA Jazz as composer 2020. April 2021 she received an honorary award from the Danish Conductors Association. In 2021, Pernille was nominated for Danish Music Awards Jazz in the category; Album of the Year with the trio album 'On Fire'.
