The Children’s Jazz Award aims to celebrate and spotlight those who make a difference by creating quality music for the next generation of listeners and potential musicians. Each year, a winner is chosen by combining a jury of professionals and an audience of kids.
Last year's installment of the Children's Jazz Award was celebrated at Gellerupscenen in the Aarhus suburb Brabrand earlier on the same day as DMA Jazz. The winner was Casper Mikkelsen & en FanJAZZtisk Trommerejse, who were chosen as winners after a very engaging concert. The ensemble made a guest performance on stage at the main show at Musikhuset.
The Children’s Jazz Award 2022 was produced in collaboration with Gellerupscenen, Børnekultur Aarhus, and the Danish festivals Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Aarhus Jazz Festival, and Jazz i Trekanten.
