BARYL

Jazz? sometimes very chill, sometimes very dark.

BARYL forms and twists the listeners expectations of jazz music and also its past and prejudices.
The quintet Baryl is present in their contemporaries in a sensitive, dynamic and universal way. They explore the contrast between tight compositions and completely free collective improvisations.

Since their debut in 2021, the Baryls have made their mark on the Danish jazz scene.
In the spring of 2022, they won the JazzDanmarks; Jazz competition. Most recently, they released their 2. album "What the hell is going on?” with two legendary featurings; Jacob Buchanan on flugelhorn and Marilyn Mazur on percussion.

Politiken wrote: "In not many years, the Baryls may end up becoming one of the country's most in-demand groups. They are at least laying the foundation for something real big." <3 <3 <3 <3 Most recently, they released the album"what the hell is going on?" where i.a. Information writes: “Although the band name connotes trouble, BARYL only play roguish tunes of the most enjoyable kind. The music is subtle and ambitious without being either silly or vain.”
