OTOOTO

Synths, Melodies, beats, Indie Jazz, vibes

** Performing Friday 12th at 20:00 during Danish Clubnight at Lila Eule! **

"Our mission is to reflect the modern society and put a sound to its vibrations. And through this sound we seek to transmit purity, love and joy”

OTOOTO is a roaring sea of analog synths and velvety horns. It's haunting and danceable beats. It's melodic and catchy melodies, fearless improvisations of equilibristic instrumentalist. But above all -it's innovative, beautiful and contemporary.
OTOOTO is a Copenhagen-based neo-jazz quintet consisting of some of the country's most innovative young musicians. Since their first release in 2020, they have played radio channels, venues and festivals at home and abroad with their distinct sound.
The band is composed of Jonas Due (trp), Oilly Wallace (as), Matthias Petri (bass), Calle Brickman (keys) and Andreas Svendsen (dr). They quickly gained ground among reviewers, radio channels and bookers in and outside Denmark and can already write two (soon to be three) completed albums on their CV as well as collaborations with, among others, Lucky Lo. Alongside OTOOTO, all the band's members are involved in musical contexts who also create contemporary music. People like Andreas Odbjerg, Emma Sehested Høeg, Guldimund
etc. can be mentioned here.
In autumn 2024, the band will release their 3 albums. The album is their most lyrical piece of work to date, which emphasizes the backbone of the Nordic cultural canon - the melody.

"The contemporary is the language we speak, the music they play in the grocery store, the advertisements that pulsate on YouTube, the movies we watch - and much, much more. OTOOTO is a laboratory where I, as a musician and composer, can create a mirror in which the world can see itself. Jazz has lost its connection to the present, but jazz's DNA is forever young - it is OTOOTO's mission to let it develop"
Jonas Due (trumpeter and composer)
